Workplace Analytics — programs, analytics, and nudges
Bridge between Workplace Analytics and MyAnalytics via programs; multi‑year design leadership and systemization.
This was one of two sister programs that were my primary focus for 2.5 years at Microsoft. My work centered around integrating Workplace Analytics and MyAnalytics through the bridging component of programs, which tied the two products together. As the de-facto design lead during a transitional period, I managed contractors and ensured their work aligned with the broader design system. My role encompassed wireframing, research, coding, content writing, visual design, and data visualization consulting—essentially handling all design-related needs for the team.
Early Concepts & Wireframes
Initial design exploration and wireframing to establish the foundation for the programs system. Early concepts focused on understanding how to bridge Workplace Analytics and MyAnalytics through a unified programs experience.
Programs Dashboard Overview
The central hub that connected Workplace Analytics and MyAnalytics, providing users with a unified view of their workplace insights and productivity programs. This dashboard served as the entry point for users to discover, enroll in, and manage programs that would help improve their work habits.
Bridge Integration & Data Flow
Created the bridge between Workplace Analytics and MyAnalytics through a programs system that enabled seamless data flow and user experience continuity across both platforms. This integration allowed organizational insights from Workplace Analytics to connect with personal productivity tools in MyAnalytics.
Workplace Analytics Integration
Comprehensive analytics dashboards that provided meaningful insights to users while maintaining privacy and security standards. I led improvements to data visualizations, refining how complex workplace metrics were presented to make them more accessible and actionable.
Workplace Focus & Nudges System
Designed and implemented a nudges system that provided gentle behavioral prompts to help users improve their work habits and productivity without being intrusive. The Workplace Focus component integrated seamlessly with the analytics platform, creating a cohesive experience that guided users toward better work-life balance.
Advanced Analytics & Insights
Continued development of sophisticated analytics interfaces that provided deeper insights into workplace patterns and productivity metrics. These advanced views allowed users to dive deeper into their data and understand the relationships between different aspects of their work.
Management & Interface Controls
Interface management tools that allowed administrators to configure and customize the analytics experience for different user groups and organizational needs. This administrative layer ensured that programs could be tailored to specific organizational contexts while maintaining privacy and compliance standards.
Design Refinement & Final Implementation
Screenshots documenting the refinement process and final implementation, showing how designs evolved from wireframes to polished interfaces based on user feedback and testing. Starting with a small team, I led the design efforts through various team changes, becoming the de-facto design lead. My role evolved to manage multiple contractors and remote designers, culminating in onboarding a new manager and additional FTE designers.
